We all had faced confusion when it comes to selection of career or profession as it one of the crucial thing for everyone. In this confusion, many aspirants got misguided or mislead and ruin their career. Today I am going to share my PMP journey including how and why I choose PMP over other certifications. Let’s take a close read about becoming a PMP certified through some logic and my real-life success story.
I pursued the PMP certification and Training for several reasons. First, I’m involved in several projects at work all the time, so I wanted to achieve skills and learn the tricks to manage those projects more professionally. Also, as a part of a world virtual team, it made sense for our team to adopt a typical methodology and vocabulary, and to implement a project management approach for our global initiatives. By earning the PMP, I could better understand the requirements and connect with the people we support. Finally, the PMP may be a highly-regarded certification within the IT field.
The PMP certification seems daunting in the beginning and it is easy to be discouraged by the eligibility requirements. I assume and used to be only sure of my eligibility after I took the time to figure on the applying. A colleague of mine shared a template that helped me identify the projects and calculate the hours before starting PMI’s online application.
Formally, I’m not officially a project manager. I do manage projects as a part of my work, but not exclusively. I had a variety of leading experience on my application. For instance, I used experience where I used to be coordinating instead of leading a project. Using “Administrator” because the Project Role on the applying, I had no hours on the Initiating Domain but you have enough time for the Executing and Controlling domains. The majority of my leading and directing experience came from championing a worldwide program that provided high-end industry certifications to an identified pool of top performers. As a project leader, I had to figure with stakeholders to get their support for the project, define the certifications in scope, develop project guidelines, presentation and launch, propose final list of candidates, manage the worldwide budget, and monitor project performance to closure.
First, do a self-analysis on where you’re along with your career, what you hope to achieve by earning the certification, and whether the abilities and knowledge demonstrated by passing the exam reflect the direction you would like to travel together with your career.
When working through the fabric, concentrate on how you’d implement project phases and tasks to the particular projects you’re performing on, as laid move into the PMBOK. Also, focus your studies on learning the inputs and outputs of every project phase and where that phase fits into the each area of information. Finally, know your formulas and use some time within the exam or testing centre before your test begins to jot down as many of them as you’ll be able to on your scratch pad.
