What is the eligibility criteria I need to follow to apply for PMP?

If you want to be given an exam then, you have to meet certain educational and professional experience requirements by PMI. The eligibility requirements depend upon your Education Background.

  • If you hold a High school diploma, associate’s degree or global equivalent, then you must have minimum five years/60 months non-overlapping project management experience in which you were spent at least 7,500 hours in working on a project. Along with that a 35 contact hours of formal education or PDUs are required for the exam.
  • But in case you have a Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent, then you need a minimum of three years/36 months non-overlapping experience where you have spent at least 4,500 hours in leading and directing project tasks. Moreover, 35 contact hour PMP training is a major prerequisite for the exam. 

How far back can I go for the Project Management experience for the application?

When it comes to mention all your project management experience, you can count in your last eight consecutive years experience prior to your application submission.
